Unlike other designs, the torque transmission in these seals occurs directly through the conical spring, which tightens around the shaft during rotation. This design eliminates the need for drive pins and makes the seal highly robust. Due to their open spring construction, they are inherently resistant to clogging, making them ideal for fluids containing minor solids.
