Rubber Bellow seals

Elastomer Bellow Seals for Wastewater & General Utilities

Rubber bellow mechanical seals (elastomer bellows) are the industry standard for general-purpose applications, including cold water pumps, sewage systems, and submersible pumps. The distinguishing feature of this design is that the flexible rubber bellow grips the shaft tightly, eliminating the need for a dynamic O-ring sliding on the shaft.

This “non-pusher” design is critical because it prevents shaft fretting (wear and damage to the pump shaft or sleeve). Additionally, the flexibility of the bellow allows the seal to compensate for significant axial movement and misalignment, making it highly forgiving and easy to install.

Key Technical Advantages:

  • No Shaft Damage: The entire bellow rotates with the shaft, ensuring zero wear on the sleeve.

  • Non-Clogging: Ideal for wastewater containing solids, as there are no sliding parts to get stuck.

  • Self-Aligning: Automatically adjusts to shaft end-play and run-out.

  • Material Variety: Available in NBR (Nitrile), EPDM, and Viton to suit different fluid temperatures and chemical compositions.
