Pusher mechanical seal

Versatile Pusher Seals for Pumps & Compressors

Pusher mechanical seals are the workhorse of the fluid sealing industry, offering a robust and cost-effective solution for a wide range of pressures and temperatures. The defining feature of this design is the dynamic secondary seal (typically an O-ring or wedge) that moves axially along the shaft to maintain face contact as the primary seal faces wear down.

Unlike bellows seals, pusher seals rely on springs (single or multiple) to provide the closing force. This design allows for higher pressure capabilities and is exceptionally reliable for sealing clean fluids, light hydrocarbons, and water-based media. KE Motion Hydro offers pusher seals with advanced face materials to minimize “seal hang-up” and shaft fretting.

Key Technical Features:

  • Dynamic O-Ring Design: Ensures constant face pressure and automatic wear compensation.

  • High Pressure Handling: suitable for high-pressure API applications and main process pumps.

  • Material Versatility: Available with Viton, EPDM, or Kalrez O-rings for chemical compatibility.

  • Rugged Construction: Ideal for heavy-duty applications in refineries and power plants.
